The cam follower transfers movement from the intake camshaft to the high-pressure fuel pump. Excessive wear, scoring, sticking, or damage to the follower or housing can affect fuel pressure and may cause abnormal HPFP operation, fuel pressure faults, misfires, hesitation, or poor engine performance.
