🔧 Genuine Mazda Camshaft Friction Washer | 2.3L MZR Engines

✅ Brand: Genuine Mazda OEM
✅ Quantity: 1 washer
✅ Sold individually
✅ Suitable for Mazda 2.3L MZR engines
✅ Fits naturally aspirated and DISI turbo applications

This genuine Mazda camshaft friction washer is used to help secure the camshaft timing components correctly during timing chain installation and repair work.

The Mazda 2.3L MZR engine uses friction-based timing components rather than relying entirely on traditional locating keys. Correct installation, clean mating surfaces and the correct tightening procedure are essential to prevent the camshaft timing from moving.

⚠️ This listing is for 1 single camshaft friction washer only. Please check how many washers are required for the repair being completed before ordering.

🔥 Mazda MPS / Mazdaspeed 2.3 DISI Turbo

The L3-VDT 2.3L DISI turbo engine uses friction washers within the camshaft timing assembly.

These washers help provide the clamping friction required between the camshaft, timing sprocket and related timing components.

✅ Recommended during timing chain replacement
✅ Recommended when camshaft sprockets are removed
✅ Recommended during VVT actuator replacement
✅ Recommended during cylinder head or camshaft work

⚠️ Reusing worn, damaged, contaminated or incorrectly installed friction washers may increase the risk of the camshaft timing slipping.

⚠️ Installation Notes

• Sold as 1 washer only
• Confirm the required quantity before ordering
• Install only on clean and dry mating surfaces
• Do not apply oil or grease unless specifically required by the Mazda workshop procedure
• Follow the correct Mazda timing and tightening sequence
• Use the correct camshaft and crankshaft timing tools
• Replace any torque-to-yield bolts required by the repair
• Camshaft timing should be checked carefully before starting the engine

Incorrect timing installation can result in poor running, fault codes, internal engine damage or engine failure.
